The area is surrounded by pristine prairie landscape with ponderosa pine, deciduous trees, and berry bushes. Camping here is primitive and dispersed, with an accessible vault toilet but no potable water or other developed amenities. Access is via Forest Road 402 and MacNab Pond Road, approximately 7.5 miles from Ekalaka. Directions

From Ekalaka, MT go 7 miles southeast on MT-323. Turn left on Forest Road 402 (Prairiedale Road) and go approximately 0.5 mile north. Turn left on MacNab Pond Road and follow to campground.
