Henneberry House is a historic homestead cabin built in 1905, located approximately 14 miles south of Dillon on the banks of the renowned Beaverhead River. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this Bureau of Land Management rental cabin provides an authentic Montana experience with modern conveniences including propane stove/oven, lights, small refrigerator, wood stoves, and basic cooking utensils. The cabin sleeps up to 8 people on two queen fold-out futons and four bunk beds. Guests must bring their own bedding and drinking water, as only non-potable water is available via hand pump. The location offers immediate access to world-class trout fishing right outside the door on the Beaverhead River, with opportunities for waterfowl hunting, hiking, 4WD mountain touring, and exploring nearby attractions including Clark Canyon Reservoir, Bannack State Park, and the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail. Access is via a lightly maintained gravel road requiring a high-clearance vehicle and locked gate combination (provided with reservation). During winter and wet weather, the road may become impassable. Maximum stay is 4 consecutive nights, and guests are responsible for cleaning the cabin before checkout.

Directions

From Dillon, take I-15 south to Dalys exit (#51). Turn left under the interstate, then right on the frontage road for approximately 1/4 mile to an access gate and parking area on the left. Use the combination code provided with your reservation to unlock the gate. The cabin is 1/4 mile ahead on a lightly maintained gravel road. High-clearance vehicle recommended.
