About
Henneberry House is a historic BLM rental cabin built in 1905 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Situated on the banks of the Beaverhead River approximately 14 miles south of Dillon, Montana, the cabin offers an authentic Montana experience with modern conveniences. The cabin sleeps up to 8 people with two queen-size fold-out futons and four bunk beds. Kitchen facilities include a propane stove/oven, wood cook stove, small refrigerator, and basic cooking utensils. The cabin is heated by wood stove with firewood and propane provided. Propane lights illuminate the interior as there is no electricity. An outhouse serves as the restroom facility. Only non-potable pump water is available, so guests must bring their own drinking water and bedding. World-class trout fishing on the Beaverhead River is right outside the door, along with opportunities for waterfowl hunting and upland game hunting on surrounding public lands. Nearby attractions include Clark Canyon Reservoir, Bannack State Park, the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail, and Virginia City. Access requires a high-clearance vehicle and the road may be impassable during winter or wet weather conditions.
