Located in Destin on Florida's Emerald Coast, Henderson Beach State Park Campground provides 60 well-appointed campsites in a protected 208-acre natural area. The campground sits within the secondary dune system, offering a mix of back-in and pull-through sites that accommodate RVs up to 60 feet in length. Each site features full hookups including water, electricity with both 30 and 50-amp service, and sewer connections, plus amenities like picnic tables, ground grills, and clothesline posts. The campground's heated and air-conditioned restroom facilities include hot showers, and laundry facilities are available on-site. Campers enjoy convenient boardwalk access to over 6,000 feet of sugar-white sand beach along the Gulf of Mexico, where swimming, fishing, and wildlife viewing are popular activities. A three-quarter mile nature trail winds through ancient coastal dunes covered in scrub oak, sand pine, and southern magnolia, providing scenic vistas and opportunities to spot gopher tortoises, migratory birds, and other native wildlife. Unlike remote wilderness camping, provisions and restaurants are just a short drive away in Destin, known as the "luckiest fishing village in the world." The park is open year-round from 8 a.m. until sundown, with camping reservations available up to 11 months in advance through the Florida State Parks reservation system.
