Harmonie State Park

Harmonie State Park sits on the banks of the Wabash River, 25 miles northwest of Evansville in Posey County. The park offers varied topography from flat floodplains along the river to rolling hills in the camping areas, with deep ravines and towering trees throughout. The 200-site family campground features electric hookups and modern bathroom facilities with hot showers, plus a youth tent area in a more primitive setting. Many sites accommodate large RVs, with some offering 65-foot pull-through spaces. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring with cooking grill. The park is a trail enthusiast's paradise with multiple options for walking, hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. Trails range from easy three-quarter-mile loops to moderate 2.5-mile routes that wind through natural forests and ravines. Eight picnic areas are scattered throughout the park, some with shelter houses and playground equipment. The Wabash River picnic area provides access to fishing and a boat launch ramp. Seasonal naturalist programs and a nature center offer educational opportunities. The park is located near Historic New Harmony, home to two early 19th-century utopian communities.

Directions

From I-64, take Exit 4 (Griffin) and follow SR 69 South approximately 7 miles to the park entrance on Highway 269. From the south, travel 11 miles north of Mount Vernon on Highway 69. From the east, take Highway 66 to Highway 69, then 4 miles south of New Harmony to Highway 269.
