High temperatures reaching the lower 90s this afternoon will combine with high humidity values to produce heat index readings peaking in the 100 to 105 range. This will be the 3rd consecutive day with heat index readings exceeding 100 degrees in many locations. With this being the first heat wave of the season be particularly alert to heat related illness potential and take the necessary action to protect yourself.

Harmonie State Park campground sits on the banks of the Wabash River in Posey County, offering 200 electric campsites spread across a shaded, wooded setting. Each campsite includes a fire ring, picnic table, parking spot, and access to nearby drinking water. Modern comfort stations with flush toilets and showers serve the campground, and an RV dump station is available on site. The park operates year-round, with at least one modern comfort station and water source maintained throughout winter months. Reservations are handled through Indiana's state park reservation system at camp.IN.gov. Beyond camping, Harmonie features an extensive trail network for walking, biking, and mountain biking through scenic ravines and mature forest. The park also offers family cabins and youth tent camping areas. Located near the historic town of New Harmony, the campground provides convenient access to local attractions while maintaining a peaceful natural setting. Standard Indiana state park rules apply, including 6-foot leash requirements for pets and quiet hours from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.
