About

Half Moon Ranch is a rustic ranch-style house located in the east Cochise Stronghold of the Dragoon Mountains, approximately 1.5 hours east of Tucson. At 5,000 feet elevation, the property sits within a dramatic canyon landscape of granite spires, sheer cliffs, and balanced boulders that once served as refuge for Apache Chief Cochise. The seven-room house accommodates up to 9 guests with two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a living room, dining room, and fully equipped kitchen with stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator, cookware, and dishes. Guests must bring their own linens, pillows, towels, toilet paper, garbage bags, and food. A wood stove provides heating, though firewood is not supplied. Cell service may be unreliable inside the cabin. The surrounding area is renowned for bouldering and rock climbing with routes ranging from 5.6 to 5.12 difficulty. Horses are permitted with a maximum of 6 allowed. High-clearance vehicles are recommended for the access road. The nearby Chiricahua National Monument, Fort Bowie National Historic Site, and several ghost towns offer additional attractions.
