Giant Springs State Park is a day-use only park that does not offer camping. First recorded by the Lewis and Clark Expedition in 1805, the park is centered around Giant Springs, one of the largest freshwater springs in the country, which produces over 156 million gallons of crystal-clear water daily at a constant 54 degrees Fahrenheit. The spring feeds into the Roe River, once listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's shortest river. Located just outside Great Falls and encompassing nearly 14 miles of Missouri River shoreline, the park offers diverse recreational opportunities including fishing, hiking, biking, bird watching, and picnicking. Visitors can explore over 30 miles of paved and dirt single-track trails that connect to the larger River's Edge Trail System. The park contains the Giant Springs State Fish Hatchery with a visitor center and show pond, and provides access to four Missouri River waterfalls within its boundaries. The park features extensive amenities including picnic shelters, playgrounds, interpretive displays, and both flush and vault toilets. With towering silver poplars, mature blue spruce, and manicured lawns, the park provides scenic settings for picnicking and photography. Giant Springs is Montana's most visited state park, attracting nearly 590,000 visitors annually who come to experience its unique geological features, rich Lewis and Clark history, and abundant wildlife viewing opportunities.

From Great Falls, take US Highway 87 north, then turn east on River Drive for 1 mile. The park is located at 4803 Giant Springs Road.
