Geneva Park Campground

About

Geneva Park Campground is located at 9,813 feet elevation in Pike National Forest, offering cooler temperatures during summer months. The campground sits in a dense stand of lodgepole pine that provides privacy between the 26 campsites but limits mountain views. Geneva Creek flows past the campground entrance, adding to the mountain atmosphere. The campground's location along the Guanella Pass Scenic Byway makes it an ideal base for exploring the area. Mount Evans Wilderness lies directly east, and the Abyss Trailhead (also called Scott Gomer Trail) is a short drive south. Burning Bear Trail, located 2 miles south, offers excellent hiking and horseback riding opportunities. The area is popular for wildlife viewing, landscape photography, and accessing roads open to off-highway vehicles. Facilities include vault toilets, picnic tables, and grills at each site. The campground accommodates both RV and tent camping, with some sites designated as tent-only. Parking aprons are dirt and the interior road may be rough. No water is available on-site, so visitors must bring adequate supplies. The campground offers both reservable sites through Recreation.gov and first-come, first-served sites.
