Frank Jackson State Park encompasses 2,050 acres around the scenic 1,000-acre Lake Jackson in Covington County, Alabama. The campground features 32 RV sites, all equipped with water, electric, sewer, and cable TV hookups. Three sites are designated ADA-accessible. A modern handicap-accessible bathhouse with showers serves the campground, and tent camping is permitted in RV sites at the regular rate. Eight primitive sites are also available near the bathhouse for those seeking a simpler experience. Lake Jackson provides excellent fishing for largemouth bass, bream, crappie, and catfish, with an ADA-accessible fishing platform and boat launch ramps. The park features a grassy swimming beach, over three miles of walking trails, and a boardwalk leading to an island in the lake. A playground, picnic pavilions, and a gazebo with garden area round out the amenities. Reservations can be made up to one year in advance through the Alabama State Parks online system at reserve.alapark.com. Check-in is at 2 PM and check-out at 11 AM. The park operates daily from 6 AM to 7 PM.
