About

Fort Boggy State Park encompasses more than 1,800 acres of rolling East Texas terrain located halfway between Houston and Dallas along I-45. The park centers around 15-acre Sullivan Lake, which offers fishing (no license required), swimming, and paddling. Kayak rentals are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and a boat ramp provides lake access. Camping options include five primitive hike-in sites and five limited-use cabins. The primitive sites are located up to one mile from the trailhead and feature a picnic table, fire ring, and lantern post but no water or electricity. Cabins sleep up to eight people and include air conditioning, a micro-fridge, microwave, coffee pot, queen bed, bunk beds, a screened porch, and an outdoor fire ring and grill. Restrooms with an outdoor shower are available near the lake. The park offers 3.5 miles of trails for hiking and biking through post oak savannah and bottomland hardwood habitats. A 50-person pavilion overlooks the lake for group gatherings. Geocaching and Junior Ranger programs provide additional activities.

Directions

From I-45, take Exit 164 toward Centerville. Head south on Highway 75 for approximately 4 miles. The park entrance is at 4994 Highway 75 South, Centerville, TX 75833.
