About

Granite Bay is a family-friendly day-use area at Folsom Lake State Recreation Area, situated in the Sierra Nevada foothills approximately 25 miles east of Sacramento. The area is known for its sandy beach, buoyed swim area with lifeguard services during summer months, and large grassy spaces ideal for picnicking and recreation. The facility offers two reservable group picnic sites near the main beach parking area, each accommodating up to 100 people with eleven picnic tables and large BBQ stations. Flush toilets and water faucets are available adjacent to the picnic areas. A snack bar operates on-site, and equipment rentals include kayaks, paddle boards, volleyball sets, shade canopies, and rafts of various sizes. This is a day-use area only. Visitors seeking overnight camping at Folsom Lake SRA should consider Beals Point Campground (year-round, 69 sites with RV hookups available) or Peninsula Campground (85 sites, seasonal). Dogs are not permitted in the designated swimming area.
