About

Beals Point Campground sits on the west shore of Folsom Lake State Recreation Area, just north of Folsom Dam in the Sierra Nevada foothills about 25 miles east of Sacramento. The campground features 69 family campsites suitable for tents, trailers, and motorhomes up to 31 feet in length. Sites are spread throughout a tree-covered area within a short walk of the lake. The campground provides piped drinking water, wheelchair-accessible flush restrooms with hot showers, and an RV dump station. Folsom Lake offers 18,000 acres of water recreation including boating, water skiing, fishing for trout, catfish, largemouth and smallmouth bass, and swimming. Beals Point has an expansive sandy beach with lifeguards during summer months. The recreation area features over 32 miles of paved bike trails connecting to Sacramento County parks and Old Sacramento, plus numerous hiking and equestrian trails. Day use amenities at Beals Point include picnic tables, BBQ grills, a snack bar, and equipment rentals for kayaks and paddleboards. The area experiences hot, dry summers with temperatures in the 80s-100s and cool, foggy winters.

Directions

From I-80 east take the Douglas Blvd. exit out of Roseville. Go east on Douglas for about 6 miles, make a right on Auburn-Folsom Rd. and continue about 2.5 miles until you reach a stoplight. Turn left at the sign for Beals Point. From Highway 50 take the Folsom Blvd. exit and go north on Folsom for about 7 miles. The road will change names to Folsom-Auburn Rd. Turn right at the stoplight for Beals Point.
