Beals Point Campground

Beals Point Campground occupies a scenic peninsula just north of Folsom Dam, positioned between the north and south forks of the American River. The campground provides 69 family sites split between a tent camping loop and an RV loop. Sites 50-69 feature full hookups with electric, water, and sewer connections, accommodating RVs and trailers up to 31 feet. Both loops have modern restrooms with showers and wheelchair-accessible facilities. The location offers excellent recreation access. The 32-mile paved American River Parkway trail begins at Beals Point and follows the river all the way to Old Sacramento. The Beals Point Snack Bar rents kayaks, standup paddleboards, and rafts for on-water exploration. Dogs are welcome throughout the park but prohibited in the designated swim area. Reservations are required during peak season (April through September) via ReserveCalifornia. Off-season camping is first-come, first-served with no reservations needed. Six ADA-accessible sites are available across both camping loops.

Directions

From Highway 50 toward Lake Tahoe: Take the Folsom Boulevard exit, head north approximately 7 miles (the road becomes Folsom-Auburn Road), continue to the traffic light marked Beals Point, then turn right. From Highway 80 heading east toward Reno: Take the Douglas Boulevard exit from Roseville, travel east approximately 6 miles, turn right on Auburn-Folsom Road, continue about 2.5 miles to the traffic light marked Beals Point, then turn left.
