About
Englebright Lake Boat-in Campground is nestled in the steep Yuba River canyon of the Sierra Nevada foothills, offering a truly unique camping experience where all 51 campsites are accessible only by boat. Sites are distributed along the lake's 24 miles of scenic shoreline, surrounded by a mix of thick forest and steep canyon walls with notable waterfalls and abundant wildlife.
Each campsite includes a picnic table, fire grill, lantern hanger, and level tent pad, accommodating up to 2 tents or 8 people per site. Portable restrooms are centrally located throughout the campground areas, and drinking water is available near the launch ramps. This is a pack-in, pack-out facility, so campers must take all trash with them when leaving.
The lake is a destination fishery offering small and largemouth bass, trout, and Kokanee salmon. Two boat ramps provide lake access near the project entrance. Water-skiing and towing inflatables are restricted to the lower five miles of the lake due to narrow canyons and sharp bends in the upper section. A counter-clockwise direction of travel is enforced for safety. Day use facilities and picnic areas are available at the Narrows Recreation Area.
