About

Black Miners Bar Group Campground occupies a prime spot on the north shore of Lake Natoma within Folsom Lake State Recreation Area. Renamed in 2022 to honor the African American miners who searched for gold here in 1848, the campground provides easy access to one of the region's most popular recreation areas just 25 miles east of Sacramento. The campground features three group sites designed for larger gatherings. Sites A and B each accommodate up to 50 people with 25 vehicles, while Site C handles up to 25 people with 12 vehicles. Each site comes equipped with picnic tables, fire rings, and grills for group cooking. Flush toilets and potable drinking water are available, though campers seeking showers will need to use facilities at Beals Point. Lake Natoma offers excellent opportunities for kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming, and fishing. The area also features hiking and biking trails along the American River, as well as equestrian trails. A boat ramp provides easy lake access for watercraft.
