Campers must be completely self-sufficient and are responsible for packing out all trash and following proper waste disposal practices. The site is located in Flathead County near Flathead Lake, surrounded by the natural beauty of the 2.4 million-acre Flathead National Forest. This area is home to grizzly bears and black bears, and campers must strictly adhere to the forest's food storage order to minimize wildlife conflicts. Dispersed camping on the Flathead National Forest is permitted almost everywhere outside of developed recreation areas, trailheads, and day-use sites, with a maximum stay limit of 16 days. Campers should be prepared for primitive conditions and must use existing fire rings where available, ensuring fires are completely extinguished before leaving.
