About

Bluff Creek Campground occupies a wooded setting on Walter F. George Lake, an 85-mile reservoir on the Chattahoochee River straddling the Alabama-Georgia border. The campground serves as a base for exploring the lake's 640 miles of shoreline and the surrounding forests. The 77 campsites feature electric and water hookups, with amenities including flush toilets, hot showers, drinking water, laundry facilities, a dump station, and a fish cleaning station. A group picnic shelter is available first-come, first-served. A nearby boat ramp provides convenient lake access. Walter F. George Lake is known for largemouth bass, white bass, hybrids, crappie, channel catfish, and bream. The dense hardwood forests surrounding the lake host deer, squirrels, rabbits, waterfowl, eagles, hawks, bobcats, and numerous songbird species. The historic towns of Eufaula, Alabama, and Cuthbert, Georgia, with their antebellum architecture, are nearby.

Directions

From Eufaula, Alabama, follow US 431 north. Turn right on State Route 165 and continue for 18 miles, then follow signs into the campground.
