About

Fishermens Memorial State Park and Campground occupies 91 acres on Point Judith in Narragansett, Rhode Island, offering campers a seaside village atmosphere with neatly trimmed grass, tree-lined paths, and activities for the whole family. The campground features 182 total sites divided into four areas: 40 RV-only sites with full hookups accommodating rigs up to 50 feet, 107 standard sites suitable for RVs and trailers, and 35 tent-only sites. Many RV sites offer pull-through configurations for easy access. The park sits on land that was formerly Fort Nathaniel Greene, a World War II defense installation named after Revolutionary War hero Nathanael Greene. Today it serves as a popular base camp for exploring the Rhode Island coast. The campground is located just 1 mile from the Block Island Ferry dock and 15 minutes from historic Newport, with easy access to popular state beaches including Scarborough, Roger Wheeler, and Salty Brine. Amenities include modern comfort stations with flush toilets and showers, a dump station, playground, basketball and tennis courts, and a viewing platform. The campground provides fire rings at each site and maintains dumpsters throughout the facility. The seaside location offers ocean breezes and convenient access to fishing, boating, swimming, and beachcombing activities. The village-like setting with organized sites and maintained grounds provides a family-friendly camping experience within easy reach of coastal Rhode Island attractions.
