About
Fish Creek Cabin offers a classic Tongass National Forest backcountry experience at the junction of freshwater Fish Creek and saltwater Thorne Arm on Revillagigedo Island. The 1978 Pan-Abode log structure measures 12x14 feet and accommodates up to six guests on two single and two double bunks. Interior amenities include a wood stove for heating, a cooking counter, table with benches, shelving, and basic cupboard space. An outhouse serves sanitation needs. The cabin provides excellent access to both freshwater and saltwater fishing. Fish Creek supports cutthroat and rainbow trout, steelhead, and Dolly Varden, while Thorne Arm offers salmon, halibut, rockfish, and Dungeness crab. Two unmaintained trails depart from the cabin area: Low Lake Trail leads to Big Lake in Misty Fjords National Monument Wilderness, and Gokachin Lake Trail crosses Fish Creek outlet to reach Star Lake. Guests must be entirely self-sufficient. There is no potable water, electricity, or firewood provided. Creek water requires treatment before consumption. Bring sleeping bags, pads, cookware, utensils, food, toilet paper, garbage bags, fire extinguisher, matches, and wood or biobricks for the stove. Wax logs are prohibited due to chimney fire risk. Be aware of high paralytic shellfish poisoning levels when harvesting shellfish.
