About
Cottage Creek Campground is a newer facility at Bullards Bar Reservoir on the North Yuba River at 2,000 feet elevation. Located a quarter mile from Emerald Cove Marina, the campground features 9 sites total: 7 double sites and 2 triple sites, all with stunning views of the reservoir. Primarily designed for RV camping, sites include paved parking areas ranging from 24 to 50 feet wide with additional space for tents and dining areas. The campground offers two vault toilet facilities and potable water.
The reservoir area provides year-round fishing for warm and cold water species including kokanee salmon, trout, bass, crappie, and bluegill. Activities include boating, water skiing, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and wildlife viewing. Several trail systems are nearby, including Bullards Bar Trail (14 miles), 7 Ball Trail (1 mile), 8 Ball Trail (3.8 miles), Rebel Ridge Trail (1.6 miles), and Schoolhouse Trail (0.7 miles). Swimming opportunities are limited due to steep reservoir slopes. The campground access road has an approximately 8% grade, and sites offer little to no shade with excellent lake views.
Directions
From Nevada City, travel north on Highway 49 for approximately 20 miles to Marysville Road and turn left. Continue west for about 6 miles, crossing over Bullards Bar Dam. Turn right shortly after the dam into the Cottage Creek/Emerald Cove Marina parking area. Drive through the main parking lot, stay left at the stop sign, and travel a quarter mile uphill on the narrow access road. The campground will be on the right.
