About
Enduro Camp is a primitive camping area situated deep within the Vernon Unit of Kisatchie National Forest, serving as the primary trailhead for the Enduro Multi-Use Trail System. This campground is the only designated camping facility within the Vernon Unit that permits direct access to OHV trails, making it a popular destination for off-highway vehicle enthusiasts and mountain bikers. The campground offers a very basic camping experience with vault toilets as the only amenity. There are no trash receptacles, requiring campers to pack out all waste, and no potable water is available on-site.
The Enduro Multi-Use Trail System offers approximately 45 miles of trails forming three long loops through open longleaf pine savannahs. The trails are primarily used for motorized vehicles and equestrian riders, though hiking and biking are also permitted. Louisiana OHV regulations apply, including registration requirements, a maximum vehicle width of 50 inches, tire lug depth restrictions, and mandatory spark arrestors. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with a nightly fee per site.
