About

Eleven Mile State Park encompasses one of Colorado's largest reservoirs, offering 326 campsites across nine distinct campgrounds scattered around the 3,405-acre lake. Located in Park County, 11 miles south of Lake George at an elevation suitable for year-round recreation, the park attracts anglers pursuing Gold Medal fishery status trout, kokanee salmon, and northern pike. Camping options accommodate diverse preferences, from 14 secluded backcountry sites requiring a 0.5 to 0.75-mile hike or boat access, to developed lakeshore sites with electric hookups. The park operates with seasonal service levels. During peak season from Memorial Day through Labor Day, visitors have access to flush toilets, hot showers, laundry facilities, pressurized water stations, and an attended dump station. Off-season camping continues through winter with vault toilets and on-request dump station access through the park office. Several campground loops close November 1 for winter, including Rocky Ridge Loops C-E, North Shore Loops B-E, Stoll Mountain, Lazy Boy, portions of Rocking Chair and Witcher's Cove, and Howbert Point, though Rocky Ridge A Loop with electric hookups remains available. Reservations are required for all camping and can be made up to six months in advance through cpwshop.com or by calling 1-800-244-5613. The park enforces a 14-day maximum stay within any 28-day period. Each site accommodates up to six people and two vehicles with one camping unit. Park gates are open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., with check-in at 1 p.m. and checkout at noon. Water systems operate from May 1 through September 30, after which campers must bring their own water. A State 2 Fire Ban is currently in effect as of December 22, 2025, prohibiting all fires and allowing only gas or propane stoves with on/off switches.
