Eleven Mile State Park

Eleven Mile State Park encompasses a 3,400-acre reservoir in Colorado's South Park valley at 8,600 feet elevation. The park is renowned for Gold Medal fishing waters holding trophy-class brown, rainbow, cutthroat, and lake trout, as well as northern pike and kokanee salmon. With 326 campsites spread across nine distinct campgrounds, options range from basic tent sites and electric RV sites to 14 backcountry walk-in sites requiring a half to three-quarter mile hike. Camping amenities include vault toilets year-round and seasonal services from May through Labor Day including showers, flush toilets, laundry facilities, and a dump station. Each campsite includes a picnic table. The park offers three boat ramps, miles of shoreline access, and approximately five miles of hiking and biking trails. The town of Lake George is three miles away with general stores and tackle shops. The high-altitude setting means water systems typically come online around May 1 each year and shut down after Labor Day. Winter camping is available but with limited site selection and services. Fire conditions change rapidly in this dry climate, so campers should check current fire restrictions before arrival.

Directions

From Colorado Springs, drive 38 miles west on US 24 to Lake George. Turn left (south) on County Road 90 and continue 6 miles, then turn south on County Road 92 for 5 miles to the park entrance.
