About

Round Mountain Campground sits at 8,500 feet in Pike National Forest near Blue Mountain, Stoll Mountain, and Martland Peak. The 16 campsites are widely spaced among ponderosa pine and young aspen, creating a peaceful atmosphere with excellent stargazing opportunities due to minimal light pollution. Wildlife in the area includes porcupines, mule deer, beavers, and chipmunks. The campground is strategically located just 6 miles from Lake George and Eleven Mile Canyon, where visitors can enjoy fly fishing, hiking, rock climbing, and wildlife watching. The nearby Riverside Campground offers access to the 1.5-mile Hardrock Trail for hiking and mountain biking. Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument is about 15 minutes away, featuring petrified redwood stumps up to 14 feet wide and thousands of detailed fossils. Facilities are rustic: each site has a fire ring and picnic table, with vault toilets available. There is no potable water, so campers must bring their own supply. This is a pack in/pack out facility with no trash service. Maximum trailer length is 35 feet. The campground accommodates up to 8 people, 2 tents, and 2 vehicles or 1 RV per site.
