About

East Fork Campground is a remote, small campground nestled along the East Fork of Big Goose Creek and numerous smaller creeks and streams in the northern Bighorn Mountains. Located about two miles north of Park Reservoir at 7,500 feet elevation, this lightly used campground provides a peaceful retreat for campers seeking a quieter experience. The campground is accessed via Red Grade/Big Goose Road (Forest System Road 26), about 23 miles from Sheridan. During the operating season from Memorial Day through Labor Day, the campground offers basic amenities including vault toilets and drinking water from a hand pump. Each site accommodates up to 8 people and two non-towed vehicles, with picnic tables provided. The area is popular for stream fishing along Big Goose Creek and its tributaries. After the season closes, the campground remains open for self-supported camping as long as weather permits, though no services are provided. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations accepted. Sites cost $20 per night during the operating season, with a 14-day stay limit. Dogs are permitted but must be kept on leash. Due to its remote location and light usage, East Fork Campground appeals to campers looking for solitude in a pristine mountain setting.
