About

Cross Creek Campground is located on the southern shore of Park Reservoir in the Bighorn National Forest, offering a remote mountain camping experience. The campground features two separate camping areas accessed from Forest Service Road 360, with a total of 12 sites equipped with tables and fire pits. The location provides excellent access to fishing at Park Reservoir and is surrounded by scenic forest landscape. During the operating season, typically from late May through early September, the campground is managed by a concessionaire who provides water, trash service, and camp host services. Sites can be reserved in advance or used on a first-come, first-served basis. The area experiences heavy use during peak summer months due to its proximity to quality fishing waters. In winter, the campground remains accessible for snowmobile users, though no services are provided. Access requires traveling Forest Service Road 26 for approximately 11 miles from where Wyoming Highway 335 transitions to forest road, then turning left onto FSR 293 for about 4 miles. A 14-day stay limit applies year-round.

Directions

From Sheridan, WY, take WY 332 south about 4 miles, then south on WY 335 about 8 miles. Road becomes Forest Service Road 26; travel another 11 miles. Turn left on FSR 293 and go about 4 miles to campground.
