About
Eagle Creek Campground is a remote, primitive campground situated along the Shoshone River within Shoshone National Forest, approximately 8 miles from Yellowstone National Park's East Entrance. The campground features 20 sites, all equipped with bear boxes, fire rings/grills, picnic tables, and RV parking. Potable water is available from a hand pump, and vault toilets serve the area. Due to high grizzly bear activity in the North Fork Highway corridor, hard-sided camping only is required. Tents and pop-up campers are strictly prohibited. Food storage in bear boxes is mandatory from March 1 through December 1. Maximum spur length is 40 feet, and stays are limited to 16 days. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. A footbridge crossing the river exists at the campground but remains closed due to safety hazards from recent flooding. One and a half miles east of the campground, two trailheads with public corrals provide access to the Washakie Wilderness. Horses and pack animals are not permitted within the campground itself. No cell service is available.
