About

Eagle Creek Campground is a primitive, first-come-first-served campground located approximately 41 miles north of Weaverville along Highway 3 in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest. Positioned at the confluence of Trinity River and Eagle Creek, the campground offers a peaceful setting for anglers, tent campers, and those seeking a quieter experience away from the busier Trinity Lake recreation areas. The campground features 17 single sites on gravel surfaces, each equipped with a picnic table and fire ring with grill. Vault toilets are available, but there is no potable water, so campers must bring their own supply or treat water from nearby sources. The access road is rough, making this location better suited for smaller rigs and tent camping, though some sites can accommodate trailers up to 35 feet. Trinity Lake and the surrounding area offer excellent fishing opportunities for smallmouth and largemouth bass, rainbow trout, kokanee salmon, and Chinook salmon. Multiple hiking trails are accessible from the area, and the lake provides opportunities for boating, sailing, and water skiing.

Directions

From Weaverville, take Highway 3 north for approximately 40.9 miles. Take the second Eagle Creek Loop Road turnoff and turn right at the T-intersection. Continue 1.1 miles to the campground.
