About
Kangaroo Lake Campground offers a peaceful high-elevation camping experience in the Klamath National Forest of Northern California. The campground features 18 sites: 13 drive-in sites and 5 walk-in sites arranged around a crystal-clear 25-acre alpine lake that plunges to 110 feet deep. The setting provides excellent opportunities for fishing, swimming off the sandy beach, and non-motorized boating. The campground provides vault toilets and potable water from faucets. Accessible facilities include a paved quarter-mile trail leading directly to the lake. Dogs are welcome on leash. Bear country protocols apply, requiring all food to be properly secured overnight and when unattended. Due to its elevation, the campground's access is determined by snow levels, typically opening in mid-June and closing in late October. Sites are first-come, first-served at $15 per night, with half-price camping available for Interagency Senior and Access pass holders.
Directions
