About
Dutch Creek Guard Station was a historic Forest Service guard station situated in an open meadow overlooking the Middle Fork Boise River near its confluence with Dutch Creek. The remote cabin was accessible via Forest Road 268, approximately 49 miles from Highway 21. The guard station previously offered rustic accommodations including vault toilet facilities but no potable drinking water. The site provided access to fishing opportunities in the Middle Fork of the Boise River and hiking on Trail 047 toward the Hot Creek and Lake areas. A natural hot springs was located about 3 miles west of the cabin along FR 268. The facility has been permanently decommissioned following wildfire damage and is no longer available for overnight stays or recreational use.
Directions
