About

Devil's Corkscrew Campground is a small, primitive campground situated on the east side of Hungry Horse Reservoir in Flathead National Forest, approximately 37 miles south of Martin City, Montana. With only 4 campsites, this lightly-used facility offers a quiet retreat for campers seeking a more remote experience along the reservoir. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring, and vault toilets are available on-site. No drinking water is provided, so campers must bring their own supply. The campground is accessed via East Side Reservoir Road (Forest Road 38), a dirt road that follows the eastern shoreline of the reservoir. Sites can accommodate trailers up to 32 feet in length. A primitive boat launch provides access to Hungry Horse Reservoir for fishing and boating opportunities. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservation system and no camping fees. Food storage regulations are strictly enforced due to bear activity in the area. All human and stock food, garbage, and other attractants must be properly stored. Campers are limited to a 16-day stay limit. The remote location and basic amenities make this campground ideal for self-sufficient campers looking for uncrowded access to the Hungry Horse Reservoir.

Directions

From Martin City, Montana, turn off Highway 2 and continue on the main road through the town heading south. This road becomes East Side Reservoir Road (Forest Road 38). Continue for 37.9 miles to the campground on the east side of Hungry Horse Reservoir.
