About
Paint Creek Equestrian Camp serves as a dedicated base for horseback riders exploring the scenic Paint Creek Valley in southwest Ohio. Located on the south side of the 1,148-acre Paint Creek Lake, this primitive campground is intentionally separated from the main family camping area to provide a quiet environment suitable for horses and their riders. The campground features 10 spacious equestrian sites with gravel surfaces that are mostly level and shaded, offering pleasant views of the lake. Each site includes a parking pad for trailers, picnic table, and fire ring. Shared facilities include a pit toilet, potable water spigot, dump station, and shelter house. High lines are available for securing horses. From camp, riders can access approximately 25 miles of interconnecting loop trails traversing the southwestern side of the lake. These primitive, single-track trails wind through hardwood forests with natural-surface treadways, passing through moderate hills, ravines, and several shallow streambeds. The equestrian trails are located less than 200 yards from the lake, allowing riders to enjoy water views during their journey.
Directions
