About
Deer Creek Campground is a small, primitive camping area located along Deer Creek Road (Forest Road 097) in the Ketchum Ranger District of the Sawtooth National Forest. The campground offers just 3 compact, shaded sites tucked among cottonwoods, willows, alder, and spruce trees beside the creek. Each site includes a fire ring and picnic table, though tent space is limited by brushy vegetation. The area provides access to the Deer Creek Trailhead, which connects to Deer Creek Trail No. 158 and Kinsey Creek Trail No. 319. The trails offer opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, and OHV riding. The Warm Springs-Deer Creek Area features extensive interconnecting loop trails suitable for backcountry exploration. This is a quiet, lightly-used spot ideal for small groups seeking a rustic experience near water. Campers must bring their own drinking water as none is available. Parking accommodates up to 5 full-sized vehicles. The campground is not suitable for large RVs or long truck-trailer combinations.
Directions
From Ketchum, drive south approximately 9 miles on ID-75. Turn west onto Deer Creek Road (Forest Road 097) and drive approximately 9 miles to the campground/picnic area.
