Decision Point State Marine Park sits at the eastern end of Passage Canal in Prince William Sound, approximately 8 miles from Whittier. This 460-acre marine park is aptly named, as boaters must decide at this point whether to continue into the larger waters of Port Wells. The park is accessible only by water or floatplane, with no road access, making it a destination primarily for kayakers and small boat operators. The park offers multiple camping options. At Squirrel Cove on the west side, visitors will find four tent platforms connected by boardwalk trail, each accommodating one tent on a first-come, first-served basis. A cooking area and bear-proof locker provide food storage. The park's public use cabin, also located at Squirrel Cove, can be reserved through the Alaska State Parks system. Just south of Decision Point, an east-facing pebble beach provides flat camping for up to 10 tents above the high tide line, with two fire rings available. The park features forested uplands of spruce and hemlock. There is no protected anchorage, so the location is best suited for kayakers and small craft that can be pulled ashore. Commercial water taxi services operate from Whittier harbor and can arrange drop-offs and pick-ups. Visitors should be prepared for coastal Alaskan conditions including tides, weather, and currents, and must pack out all trash as no collection service is provided.

Charter boat shuttle services are available from Whittier harbor for drop-offs and pick-ups. No mooring buoys provided; anchoring is at your own risk.
