About

Crosho Lake Recreation Area provides primitive dispersed camping opportunities in a scenic mountain setting within the Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest. The area offers approximately 10 undeveloped campsites with views of the lake and the Little Flat Tops. This is a lightly-used destination that appeals to campers seeking solitude and a back-to-basics experience. The lake is a popular destination for fishing, with Colorado River Cutthroat Trout and Arctic Grayling present in its waters. Anglers can fish from shore, wade, or use float tubes and small non-motorized boats such as canoes and kayaks. Motorized boats are prohibited. Facilities are minimal at this dispersed camping area. There is one vault toilet, but no picnic tables, fire grates, or potable water. Campers should be fully self-sufficient and prepared to pack out all trash. Day-use parking is very limited. The access road requires a high-clearance vehicle due to rough conditions.

Directions
