About

Bear Lake Campground is located in the Bear River area of the Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest, situated just east of Bear Lake at an elevation near 10,000 feet. The campground was completely rebuilt in 2002 and features 43 sites including 3 double-sites and 1 triple-site, all surrounded by mixed conifer and aspen forest. Facilities include six vault toilets (three of which are ADA accessible), potable water, and trash services. Each campsite is equipped with a fire grate, picnic table, and tent pad. The campground can accommodate trailers up to 30 feet in length but has no hookups or dump station. Recreation opportunities include fishing and boating on Bear Lake, hiking on nearby trails, and big game hunting during fall. Dogs are permitted but must remain on leash at all times. Horses and pack animals are not allowed in the campground.
