About

Chapman Reservoir Campground is a small, peaceful campground located in the Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest outside of Yampa, Colorado. Situated at 9,300 feet elevation near Dunckley Pass along the Flat Tops Trail Scenic Byway, the campground offers 12 sites with picnic tables and fire grates. A camp host is present during summer months. The campground provides access to Chapman Reservoir, which is reached via a short walk from the camping area. Activities include fishing and wakeless boating on the reservoir. ATVs cannot be driven through the campground but can be trailered to the area for riding on nearby trails. The Yampa Ranger Station/Visitor Center offers brochures on the scenic byway. This is a primitive campground with no potable water, so campers must bring their own water supply. Payment is by exact cash or check only. Horse and pack animals are not permitted at this site.
