About

Crawford State Park encompasses 500 acres of rolling woodlands surrounding a scenic 150-acre lake constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps during the 1930s. Located 9 miles north of Girard in Crawford County, the park offers shady campsites peppered among a mature oak forest. Six campgrounds provide options ranging from primitive tent sites to utility sites with electric and water hookups. Campers can choose from approximately 28 primitive sites, 38 electric-only sites with 30-amp service, and 45 sites with both electric (30/50 amp) and water hookups. All sites feature level concrete pads, fire pits, and picnic tables. Two bathhouses provide flush toilets and hot showers, and a dump station is available for RV waste disposal. Beyond camping, the park offers excellent recreation including two boat ramps, a swimming beach, sand volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, and a playground. The Deer Run Nature Trail provides a 0.75-mile ADA-accessible hike through woodlands, while additional trails accommodate hiking and mountain biking. Fishing for channel catfish, crappie, striped bass, walleye, and largemouth bass is popular on the lake.
