About

Corn Creek Campground Complex is a remote riverside campground located 45 miles west of North Fork, Idaho along the Main Salmon River Road (Forest Road 030). At 2,900 feet elevation, the 18-site campground provides access to the Salmon River in a canyon setting. The site is best known as the launch point for the Wild segment of the Main Salmon River, a 79-mile stretch of Class III-IV whitewater designated under the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act. The campground features a boat ramp that serves both jet boaters heading upriver and rafters beginning multi-day float trips. A permit is required year-round to float the Wild Main Salmon from Corn Creek to Long Tom Bar. Beyond river access, the area offers fishing for cutthroat and rainbow trout, steelhead, and whitefish. A hiking and horseback riding trail departs from the campground, looping south to Butt Creek Point before continuing north to Horse Creek Campground. Facilities include vault toilets and potable water from a hand pump. Picnic facilities are accessible. The campground is primitive with no hookups or showers. Payment of $10 per night must be made by cash or check.
