About

Corinth Recreation Area sits on the upper reaches of Lewis Smith Lake within the William B. Bankhead National Forest. Originally built in the 1960s and renovated in 1998, the campground offers a mix of developed RV camping and primitive tent sites. The Yellow Hammer and Firefly loops contain 52 paved sites with full hookups, while eight rustic tent sites are served by community hydrants and a nearby bathhouse. The day-use area centers on a swimming beach with its own bathhouse and outdoor shower. A 100-person group picnic pavilion, 29 individual picnic sites, and a 1.25-mile shoreline hiking trail round out the facilities. Two boat ramps provide lake access for fishing and boating. Lewis Smith Lake is known for excellent Kentucky Spotted Bass and Hybrid Striped Bass fishing. Campers must pack out trash and deposit it in dumpsters located near the dump station. An electronic gate controls campground access. Alcohol is prohibited. Check-in begins at 2:00 PM and checkout is by noon.
