About

Corinth Recreation Area is a state-of-the-art campground located on the upper shores of Lewis Smith Lake in Winston County within William B. Bankhead National Forest. Originally built in the 1960s and renovated in 1998, this well-maintained facility offers comprehensive camping amenities in a scenic lakeside setting. The campground features two camping loops with 52 full hookup sites (electric, water, sewer) that can accommodate RVs of any size, plus 8 rustic tent-only sites with nearby water hydrants. Four bathhouses with hot showers serve the camping areas. An electronic gate controls campground access. There are no garbage bins; campers must pack out all trash and use the dumpsters at the dump station. ADA accessible sites are available throughout. The day-use area includes a swimming beach with bathhouse and outdoor shower, 29 picnic sites, and a 100-person group pavilion. The 1.25-mile Bobwhite Trail follows the shoreline. Two boat ramps provide lake access, with one exclusively for campers. Lewis Smith Lake offers excellent fishing for Kentucky Spotted Bass and Hybrid Striped Bass. The lake covers 21,200 acres with 500 miles of shoreline and depths up to 264 feet. Interpretive programs are offered during summer months.
