About
Clear Creek Recreation Area is the largest and most visited campground in the Bankhead National Forest, situated on the scenic shores of Lewis Smith Lake in Winston County. The campground features 102 spacious RV sites distributed across four paved loops, including 32 double sites and 11 pull-through sites. All campsites include 30-amp and 50-amp electrical service, water hookups, fire rings, picnic tables, and lantern posts on level, paved parking spurs. Each loop has a bathhouse with flush toilets and hot showers. Two group camping areas accommodate up to 25 tent campers each with shared bathhouse facilities. The recreation area provides direct access to Lewis Smith Lake, known for excellent fishing for largemouth bass, striped bass, and crappie.
