Copper Creek Dispersed #9 is a dispersed camping site located in the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest in Granite County, Montana. This primitive camping area sits in a forested mountain setting near Copper Creek, providing access to backcountry recreation in one of Montana's largest national forests. As a dispersed camping site, this location offers no developed facilities or amenities. Campers must be self-sufficient and practice Leave No Trace principles. The Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest allows dispersed camping throughout most of the forest where not otherwise restricted, providing opportunities for solitude and primitive camping experiences. The area is suitable for experienced campers comfortable with backcountry conditions. Winter access may be limited or impossible depending on snow conditions and road maintenance. Campers should be prepared for all weather conditions and pack out all trash.
Directions
From Philipsburg, travel south on Highway 1 for about 6.5 miles. Turn west onto Highway 38 and continue for 9 miles. Then, turn south onto Forest Service Road 5106 and proceed approximately 10 miles to the campground.
