About

Cloud Crossing Recreation Area is located along the beautiful Saline Bayou Wild & Scenic River in the Winn Ranger District of Kisatchie National Forest. This recreation complex sits in a scenic bottomland area timbered with large hardwoods and pines, offering abundant opportunities to observe wildlife in their natural habitat. The campground provides access to diverse recreational activities including bank fishing, boating, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, and picnicking. Cloud Crossing serves as an ideal put-in and take-out point for paddlers exploring the Saline Bayou. The bayou can flow over its banks during high water, so checking current water conditions before visiting is advisable. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no fees required. Visitors must physically arrive at the site to claim a campsite. The facility offers drinking water from faucets and vault toilets. From Goldonna, take Louisiana Highway 156 east for 2.5 miles, turn left on Highway 1233, then turn left on Forest Road 513 to reach the signed recreation area.
