About

Cloud Crossing Recreation Area is a primitive campground nestled in bottomland timber along the Saline Bayou National Wild and Scenic River in Louisiana's Kisatchie National Forest. The shaded sites sit beneath towering hardwoods and pines, offering a peaceful setting for tent campers and small RVs seeking to explore this scenic waterway. The campground provides basic amenities including vault toilets, potable water from faucets, picnic tables at each site, fire rings with grills, lantern hooks, and trash containers. A pavilion with a barbecue pit is available for group gatherings. A boat launch ramp accommodates small trailered watercraft, making Cloud Crossing a popular staging area for canoe and kayak trips on the bayou. Wildlife viewing opportunities abound in this riparian corridor. The surrounding forest supports diverse species, and the bayou itself offers fishing access. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no fees required.
