Saddle Bayou
Open year-round. No fee and no reservations required. Potable water is not available; campers must bring their own water supply.
About
Saddle Bayou Camp provides a very primitive camping experience in a bottomland hardwood forest setting within Kisatchie National Forest's Catahoula Ranger District. The campground is designated primarily for hunters and sees its peak use during hunting season due to its proximity to the National Catahoula Wildlife Management Preserve. This is a no-frills, no-fee dispersed camping area with no potable water available. Campers must be fully self-sufficient, bringing their own water and supplies. The remote setting offers solitude and direct access to hunting opportunities in the surrounding national forest and wildlife management lands.
Directions
From Alexandria, travel north 25 miles on U.S. 167, turn west on FS Road 120 for 2 miles, then north on Forest Road 155 for 0.5 miles.
