Pearson Camp is a designated hunter's camp offering a very primitive camping experience in the Catahoula Ranger District of Kisatchie National Forest. Situated in Grant Parish, Louisiana, the camp provides direct access from U.S. Highway 167, making it convenient for hunters heading to the adjacent National Catahoula Wildlife Management Preserve. This is a minimalist backcountry camp with no developed amenities. Potable water is not available on site, so campers must bring their own supply. The primitive nature of the camp appeals to hunters seeking an authentic wilderness experience during Louisiana's hunting seasons. No camping fee is required. The camp is managed by the Catahoula Ranger District office in Bentley, Louisiana, though visitors should call ahead as the office may be closed due to staffing constraints.
Directions
From Alexandria, take U.S. Highway 167 north for 27 miles. Pearson Camp is on the right (east) side of the road.
