Highway 472 Camp is a designated primitive camping area located inside the Catahoula National Wildlife Management Preserve within Kisatchie National Forest, Grant Parish, Louisiana. The camp is split into two locations directly across Highway 472 from each other, with the north side in the Winn Ranger District and the south side in the Catahoula Ranger District. While primarily utilized by hunters during hunting seasons, the camp is open to all visitors year-round for primitive camping. Both facilities offer group camping and tent camping areas set in a predominantly pine forest environment. Each location provides basic amenities including restrooms and information boards. There is no fee required to use this campground. Campers should be prepared for a truly primitive experience, as potable water is not available on-site and visitors must bring their own water and supplies. The campground is easily accessible along Louisiana Highway 472, just off Highway 167 near Packton. Its location within the wildlife preserve makes it an ideal base camp for hunters and outdoor enthusiasts exploring the Kisatchie National Forest and surrounding areas.
