About

Bankston Camp is a primitive camping area managed by the Catahoula Ranger District of Kisatchie National Forest. Located northeast of Williana, Louisiana, just outside the borders of the Catahoula National Wildlife Management Preserve, the camp offers a truly backcountry experience for those seeking solitude in the Louisiana pine forests. This is a no-fee, undeveloped site with minimal amenities. Potable water is not available, so campers must bring their own water supply. The flat, densely forested terrain provides a quiet setting away from developed recreation areas. The nearby Kisatchie Bayou Recreation Area offers additional opportunities for exploration. Due to its primitive nature, this camp is best suited for experienced campers comfortable with self-sufficient backcountry camping. The site operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations required or accepted.
