About

Spanning over 12,000 acres along the southern shore of Beaver Lake, Hobbs State Park-Conservation Area provides a true backcountry camping experience in northwest Arkansas. The park offers eleven primitive tent sites divided between two distinct areas, each requiring several miles of hiking or biking to access. The five Pigeon Roost Trail campsites sit in a heavily forested area approximately 4 miles from the trailhead. Sites 3, 4, and 5 offer the closest access to Beaver Lake. Each site includes one to four tent pads, a fire ring with grill, and a lantern hook, accommodating 4 to 8 campers depending on the site. These sites close during fall hunting seasons. The six Karst Loop campsites represent Arkansas' first mountain-bike-accessible backcountry camping. Located 3.5+ miles from the Karst Parking Lot via Monument Trail singletrack, each site features a 12x20-foot tent pad, fire ring, and metal sculpture structures designed for hanging hammocks. The Karst Loop sites remain open year-round and offer scenic forest views with easy lake access.

Directions

From Rogers, take Highway 12 east to 20201 East Highway 12. Pigeon Roost Trailhead is accessed separately; Karst Loop sites are accessed from the Monument Trailhead adjacent to the visitor center.
