Cherry Creek State Park
Open year-round. Stage 2 fire restrictions currently in effect: propane grills and firepits permitted, no open burning, fireworks, or charcoal grills. Dump station closed November 1 through March 31. Showers and laundry facilities may have reduced availability during winter months. Reservations required.
About
Cherry Creek State Park campground is an urban oasis offering 135 campsites within a 4,000-acre recreation area just minutes from downtown Denver. The campground operates year-round and features a mix of full-hookup RV sites and tent-only sites spread across several loops including Abilene, Buffalo, Gold Rush, Coyote, and Pioneer. Full-hookup sites include electric (20/30/50-amp), water, and sewer connections with level concrete pads and generous spacing between sites. The campground provides modern amenities including flush restrooms, coin-operated showers, and laundry facilities, though these may have reduced availability during winter months. A dump station is available from April through October. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring. ADA-accessible sites are designated with "HD" markings. Beyond camping, the park offers 35 miles of trails, a reservoir with swimming beaches and boat ramps, a model airplane runway, and a dog off-leash area. The visitor center sells firewood and provides park information. Reservations are required and can be made through cpwshop.com or by calling 1-800-244-5613.
