About
Osprey Campground is a small, tent-only campground located along the South Platte River in Pike National Forest at 6,200 feet elevation. The campground operates year-round on a first-come, first-served basis, with 13 campsites that each include a picnic table and fire ring. Visitors can expect full services from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, including portable toilets, trash service, and a host stationed at nearby Lone Rock Campground. During the extended season in fall, winter, and spring, these services may be limited or unavailable, and campers should come prepared.
The campground charges $24 per night and includes parking for two vehicles per site, with an $11 fee for a third vehicle. Each site accommodates up to eight people and two tents, with a maximum stay of 14 consecutive nights. No potable water is available on-site, so campers must bring their own. The location is popular with anglers and offers easy access to the South Platte River. Much of the surrounding land is privately owned, and visitors should respect posted signs and property boundaries. Dogs must be leashed, and firearms and fireworks are prohibited.
