About
Indian Creek Equestrian Campground sits among Ponderosa pine, Douglas fir, aspen, and Gamble oak in Pike National Forest, approximately 10 miles west of Sedalia on Highway 67. This equestrian-focused facility requires campers to possess a horse or mule. The seven campsites feature parking spurs of 50-60 feet to accommodate horse trailers, with shared hitching rails and small corrals available for stock. The campground serves as a trailhead for the Indian Creek Trail (also called Bear Creek Trail), a 14-mile loop enjoyed by horseback riders, mountain bikers, and hikers. Wildlife in the area includes mule deer, turkey, elk, and black bears. Roxborough State Park with its dramatic red-rock formations lies to the northeast. Facilities include vault toilets, potable water from hand pumps, and picnic tables. No electric hookups are available. Only certified weed-free hay is permitted, and dogs must be leashed at all times. Each site accommodates up to 10 people and 4 horses.
