Devils Head Campground resides at the northern base of 9,748-foot Devils Head in Pike National Forest, offering stunning views and proximity to the popular Devils Head Fire Lookout Trail. The campground features 21 sites divided into upper and lower loops, with the upper loop currently the only operational section due to sedimentation in the lower loop. Rock formations dot the landscape throughout the area, attracting hikers and climbers alike.
During peak season from Memorial Day through Labor Day, the campground provides full services including an on-site host and trash collection. The extended season through late September offers reduced services. The campground operates strictly on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. Each site accommodates up to 8 people with 2 tents and 2 vehicles or 1 RV, and includes a picnic table and fire pit.
Access is via Rampart Range Road, a dirt forest road that can be rough and dusty. Directions
From Denver, take U.S. Highway 85 south to Sedalia. Turn west on Highway 67 and continue for 10 miles to the junction with Rampart Range Road. Turn south onto Rampart Range Road and continue for 10 miles. Exit onto the signed Devils Head Campground turn off.
