About
Hidden in the Rampart Range of Pike National Forest, Flat Rocks Campground provides 19 wooded campsites tailored for both tent campers and RV users with rigs up to 30 feet. The campground's primary draw is its OHV access: ATVs and off-road motorcycles are permitted to enter and exit directly for trail riding throughout the Rampart Range Recreation Area. All OHVs must be registered with Colorado State Parks and riders should consult the current Motor Vehicle Use Map for designated routes. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. Sites cost $28 per night and include parking for two vehicles or one RV; a third vehicle adds $11. Each site accommodates up to 8 people with a maximum of 2 tents. Amenities include vault toilets, potable water, fire rings, and picnic tables at each site. There are no hookups, dump station, or showers. Full services including water, trash collection, and a camp host are available between Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day weekend. During the extended shoulder season, these services may be unavailable. The Rampart Range Road typically closes by December 1 and reopens when conditions permit, with a target of April 1 but potentially delayed until late May depending on snow.
